Our First Concern

Hands on Africa has been involved in Farm development in Malawi for years with the Grace Farm development program in Namwera, Malawi. Lyson Daude is the local farm manager and we partner with Stichting Raise from Holland who took responsibility for the Grace Farming program in Malawi.
In 2016 Bill Passaglia felt led to start a Hands on Africa Farming project in Zambia with the hope to bring it to profitable level from where it can be extended into other African countries while at the same time benefit our orphanages and other ministries.

Bill Passaglia - Director of Farming Development

Bill Passaglia, a Chicago area investor and entrepreneur, is co-founder and board member of Hands On Africa. Born and raised in Chicago, IL, USA. Bill left briefly to attend college in Wisconsin where he met Jane, his wife of 46 years. After Bill completed a degree in finance, business administration, & dairy science the couple returned to Chicago where Bill entered entrepreneurial businesses, retail, manufacturing, distribution, franchising, auto mobile sales and repairs. In 1991 Bill dedicated & refocused his life talents and efforts to Christ. Some years later he met Andre Delport and began to work with Hands On Africa when Andre moved to the United States. In 2008, the sudden death of Bill's young grandson brought into clear focus the shortness of life causing him to accelerate his missionary efforts. Since then he has established homeless shelters, assisted with food pantries and local service organizations, and developed service ministries within his church, evangelizing, teaching while still supporting Hands On Africa.

When he accompanied Andre to Africa he was given a vision to establish farming in Zambia spreading to the other HOA ministries to enable the orphans and locals to be self-sustaining . Currently he is working on acquiring land, partners and products for this endeavor. He resides in Lockport, Il. USA and is the father of three and proud grandfather of 9.
